Job Summary
Own Hardware Test Strategy by defining the overall testing roadmap for autonomous robotic systems and developing validation plans. Build and scale test infrastructure by configuring labs, selecting equipment, and designing custom fixtures for reliability and scalability. Execute hands-on hardware tests, troubleshoot issues, and partner with software teams to validate system performance. Provide technical leadership by guiding test teams in executing strategies and acting as a thought leader in complex electro-mechanical systems. Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software groups to integrate testing processes. Bootstrap a new testing function from the ground up in an unstructured environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Proven experience working on autonomous systems, robotics, or similar advanced hardware platforms
- Hands-on experience with hardware validation and testing
- Hands-on experience with lab setup and test equipment selection
- Hands-on experience with designing test fixtures
- Ability to operate independently and bootstrap new processes and teams from scratch
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with mechatronics systems
- Background in autonomous robotics development environments
- Experience leading technical direction for test teams (without formal people management)
- Familiarity with both hardware and software testing integration
