Job Summary
Lead Hand/Equipment Operator II in North Grenville area responsible for directing road maintenance crews, patrolling roads, and ensuring compliance with the Minimum Maintenance Standards. Performs summer and winter road maintenance tasks (pavement patching, vegetation control, debris cleanup, sign repairs, drainage checks, and snow/ice operations); plans and documents traffic control per Ontario Traffic Manual; conducts on-site safety talks; maintains records of tasks and weather conditions; collaborates with the Supervisor and external stakeholders; requires Ontario D license with Z endorsement, CPIC, and 3+ years in road maintenance; extensive knowledge of road maintenance practices, construction equipment, HTA, OTM, OHSA, and public works software; strong supervisory, communication, and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Roads Supervisor (CRS) asset is considered (asset)
- Valid Ontario D license with Z endorsement
- CPIC clearance
- Minimum 3 years of progressive road maintenance experience
- Experience with HTA, OTM, OHSA
- Proficiency with computerized public works databases
- Supervisory/leadership experience
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Customer-focused with dispute resolution skills
- Ability to organize and adapt to changing priorities
- Knowledge of road maintenance practices and construction equipment
