Job Summary
Lead Hand oversees the Industrial Mechanic trade within the Health Sciences Centre facilities shop, coordinating workflow and assisting in installation, commissioning, startup, maintenance and servicing of building systems and components. Responsibilities include investigation and documentation of existing, new, and replacement systems; organizing shop workflow for efficient resource use; and applying strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Requires a minimum of five years’ Industrial Mechanic experience (preferably in a hospital environment) and at least two years of lead hand or supervisory experience; Manitoba Journeyman certificate in the Industrial Mechanic trade; and adherence to relevant codes and CSA standards. The role emphasizes technical documentation, problem-solving, and development of commissioning procedures; physical ability to perform job duties and willingness to work a day shift in-person in Winnipeg, MB.
