Job Summary
Lead Grounds Maintenance Engineer oversees and maintains grounds operations at Methodist Women's Hospital and Medical Office Building. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining power and manual equipment per manufacturer specs; maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, and landscaping; snow and ice removal for parking lots, sidewalks, and steps; trash and yard waste removal; maintaining parking lots, driveways, and sidewalks with power washing and sweeping; recording daily work activity; performing preventive maintenance on equipment; participating in in-services and continuing education; supporting mission and policies; assisting POMG leadership with hiring, training, coaching, and evaluations; assisting with daily operations, staffing, schedules, and overtime management; maintaining inventory of parts, supplies, and de-icer products; coordinating service with external vendors and monitoring contract work. Skills/Knowledge include general grounds maintenance, basic computer usage, strong verbal communication, ability to read/write/understand reports, travel to various locations, and planning/ delegation/time-management/problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1-2 years experience operating and maintaining large power equipment (e.g., Bobcat front-end loaders, 4x4 trucks, power sweepers, snow blowers, large tractors, chainsaws, weed trimmers)
- 1 year experience in lawn care/horticulture
- 1 year experience in snow removal
- 1 year experience in sprinkler systems, automotive, and/or small engine systems
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred
- Valid and current driver’s license
