Job Summary
Conduct updates to gas and electric Distribution and Transmission GIS models while ensuring compliance with Asset Rules and Operating Procedures. Verify SAP Master Data records and work sketches, initiate resolution of discrepancies, and perform quality control checks on GIS models. Provide oversight of GIS Operations personnel and contractors to ensure professional, efficient, and accurate work completion. Develop and maintain geospatial data repositories, train new employees or contractors on GIS topics, and identify potential problems to implement solutions meeting customer needs. This role requires proficiency in CAD and GIS systems and a practical knowledge of gas and electric systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CADD/GIS related field
- 5 years of work experience with concentration in GIS data analysis and editing
- 3 - 5 years working as an Avangrid GIS Analyst
- Demonstrated excellence in available CAD and GIS systems
- Able to train others in GIS topics
- Able to work independently and demonstrate complete proficiency in analyzing and implementing GIS solutions
- Must be a citizen of the country of the vacancy to legally work in that country
- Able to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties in the event of a system emergency
Desired Qualifications
- A practical knowledge of the gas and the electric systems
- A working knowledge of engineering and construction policies and procedures
- Possesses the ability to identify potential problems and developing and implementing solutions that meet or exceed customer needs
- Develops and maintains geospatial data and data repository
- Provides training/mentoring to Analysts within the department
- Proficient with certain practices and procedures of other departments with regard to how they affect and relate to the GIS models
- Provides oversight of other GIS Operations personnel and Contractors to ensure that the work is completed in the most professional, efficient, and accurate manner
- May involve application and process training for new employees or contractors
