Lead Geologist

Job Summary
Lead Geologist position requires planning, directing, and overseeing environmental consulting services. The role involves managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s in Geology or related field, with 7-10 years of related experience, project management proficiency, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel for site projects. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and professional certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geosciences or closely related discipline
- 7-10 years of related experience
- Ability to pursue and develop clients in the public or private sectors
- Proficient in project management and/or business development experience
- Knowledge and experience with Federal and State (NC, SC, VA) environmental regulatory programs
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Must pass physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership
- Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team members
- Highly proficient with technical writing and office automation
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety
- Ability and willingness to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites primarily in North Carolina and surrounding area
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geology, or closely related discipline
- PG or applicable professional certification
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120)
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR
