Job Summary
Lead General Warehouse Associate works across multiple warehouse functions in a distribution center (e.g., case picking, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing, replenishment) and provides guidance and training to warehouse staff. Responsibilities include coaching and training associates on duties and safety, coordinating warehousing work to ensure timely task completion, operating material handling equipment (loading/unloading, picking, stocking, staging), ensuring warehouse functions run smoothly, escalating issues to management, verifying and entering product/shipment data into the inventory system, maintaining clean work areas and safety compliance, completing required paperwork, and serving as back-up for warehousing Functions. Experience in leading a department or team, and ability to train and delegate tasks to junior staff are expected. The role may involve frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing for extended periods, and adherence to safety policies. Education/experience note: technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas, generally 7+ years of related experience.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of age
- Able to pass a drug test
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, walk, move, push, and pull product throughout the day
- Willingness to train to operate electric pallet jack and forklifts
- 3+ years of experience in multiple departments in a distribution center
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment
- Prior experience in a lead or mentorship role
- Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas
- Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility
