Lead Functional Project Manager

Job Summary
Lead the planning, organizing and implementation of complex application delivery projects supporting RBC’s Risk platform, with a focus on stakeholder management, team leadership, scheduling, and financial oversight. Drive project routines, ceremonies, and communication, establish and maintain DoR/DoD, manage dependencies, and monitor costs and benefits. Leverage AI-driven insights and LLM tools to automate status reporting and enhance risk monitoring and reporting. Requires a track record of delivering as both a Project Manager and Scrum Master, strong communication, and practical Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience, plus familiarity with tools like Planview, MS Project, Jira, Leankit, Confluence. Located in Toronto, with in-office presence required several days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Must-have: A track record of successful delivery as both a Project Manager and Scrum Master with intermediate to advanced coaching/development/servant leadership mindset
- Advanced communication skills including presentation, facilitation, verbal and written
- Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions
- Ability to facilitate all Scrum events and activities
- Capacity planning and team allocation expertise
- Experience preparing Definitions of Ready (DoR) and Definitions of Done (DoD)
- Strong sprint tracking skills with ability to manage dependencies and remove/escalate impediments
- Familiarity with LLM tools and AI automation concepts for reporting and analytics
- Business analysis and requirements gathering experience
- Undergraduate degree/Diploma
- Nice-to-have: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation
- Advanced understanding and experience of RBC's Agile, iWF, and Business Agility project management frameworks and tools (e.g., Planview, MS Project, Jira, Leankit, and Confluence)
- Solid technical background with understanding in software development and web technologies
- Experience with LLM platforms and generative AI tools
- Background in process optimization or continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience with advanced analytics and data visualization tools
