Job Summary
Lead Forklift Operator responsible for overseeing forklift operations, providing guidance to a team of operators, ensuring safety and quality adherence, and coordinating throughput in a fast-paced warehouse. Responsibilities include training and supporting operators, operating single and double forklifts, enforcing OSHA-compliant safety protocols, supervising picking/shipping accuracy, conducting equipment inspections, leading inventory activities, maintaining a clean storage environment, communicating performance and improvement needs to management, and delegating tasks to maximize productivity. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, forklift experience (including double forklifts), basic computer skills with WMS familiarity, ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends/holidays/overtime, and ability to lift up to 55 pounds; leadership experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s license
- Proven experience as a forklift operator, including operation of double forklifts
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and prior experience leading a team preferred
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems
- Ability to work 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Capability to lift up to 55 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including working at heights or in confined spaces
