Lead Footwear Materials Developer, Energy

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end materials development for Nike Energy Footwear from concept through commercialization. Drive material readiness to meet design intent, performance, cost, quality, and sustainability targets. Partner daily with Design, Product Development, Engineering, Testing, Planning, and Sourcing to deliver aligned solutions; translate 2D design intent into 3D material executions; manage prototypes, lab testing, and data interpretation to address performance and quality challenges. Drive material strategies across palettes and sustainability initiatives, and collaborate with external vendors to ensure feasibility, pricing, and scalable manufacturing routes. Maintain clear material data and documentation to support commercialization and long-term supply chain success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Footwear Design, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of direct experience in footwear materials and product creation
- Proven experience collaborating with external manufacturing partners and vendors
- Demonstrated people leadership, mentoring, or team management experience
