Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel trucks, trailers, pickups, and landscaping equipment by performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and major mechanical repairs on engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and drivetrains. Utilize scan tools and diagnostic software to identify issues while maintaining accurate service records. Perform or obtain certification for New York State vehicle inspections to ensure the fleet remains safe, reliable, and operational with minimal downtime. Requires 5+ years of professional mechanical experience, ASE certifications preferred, and NYS Inspector Certification. Weekly pay, overtime available, and employer-sponsored health insurance included.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional mechanical experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or similar
- Strong mechanical diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with both gas and diesel engines
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems
- Experience using scan tools and computerized diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and take ownership of fleet maintenance
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
Desired Qualifications
- NYS Inspector Certification preferred
- ASE Certifications are a plus
