Job Summary

The Lead Fleet Mechanic is responsible for supervising and scheduling work for the fleet maintenance department, overseeing daily maintenance of fleet equipment, maintaining records, and communicating effectively with vendors. Essential qualifications include a Class 7 Pennsylvania State Inspection License, Federal Commercial Driver's License Class A, Air Brake Adjustment Certification, and various refrigerant handling certifications. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and knowledge of mechanical and operational functions of fleet equipment. The role also requires maintenance of safety standards and effective leadership of co-workers.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mechanical and operational functions of all fleet equipment
  • Must meet all criteria of a Fleet Mechanic A
  • Experience with computers
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to establish both short and long term goals

Desired Qualifications

  • Specialized training in management/supervisory skills preferred
  • Experience with maintenance repair and tracking systems SAP or equivalent preferred
  • American Welding Society Certificate preferred
