Job Summary
Lead firewall engineer to oversee the NSS Boundary Team, directing daily operations, troubleshooting, and security projects. Design and implement security solutions using F5, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto for project-based requirements; ensure STIG/SRG baselines; develop and enforce SOPs and configuration management; monitor performance, logs, and drift; produce architecture diagrams and licensing inventories; provide written reports and briefings to leadership; coordinate with stakeholders to ensure task completion and customer satisfaction; evaluate new networking technologies and apply improvements; mentor and coach personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- 8+ years related technical experience in network security technologies, tools, and techniques
- 5+ years experience with large-scale enterprise/global networks
- Demonstrated knowledge of planning, directing, and managing a Firewall / Boundary Security Team
- Firewall experience within the DoD/IC
- Experience with F5 platforms/technologies (APM, AFM, SSLO)
- Experience with Palo Alto platforms/technologies (Threat Prevention, Wildfire, URL Filtering, Global Protect)
- Experience with Juniper SRX platforms/technologies
- Experience with TLS/SSL troubleshooting
- DoD PKI, Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory, Authentication (SAML, OAuth)
- DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliant certification (current)
- CSSP Infrastructure Support certification or ability to obtain within 120 days
- Ability to obtain and maintain CI polygraph
- Desirable: BS or MS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field
- Certifications: F5, Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP, Palo Alto PCNSE (or equivalent)
