Job Summary
Lead and perform field service activities involving rotating equipment installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance at customer sites and shop environments. Independently execute complex mechanical work on pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, gearboxes, and blowers while providing technical direction, coaching, and support to Field Technicians and less experienced employees. Coordinate field activities to ensure safe, efficient completion, complete accurate service reports and documentation, and maintain compliance with company safety policies and customer requirements. Requires ability to travel, read technical drawings, and perform precision measurements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, mechanical repair, rotating equipment, or industrial maintenance
- Experience independently troubleshooting and repairing industrial rotating equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers
- Ability to provide technical direction and support to other technicians
- Ability to travel to customer sites as required
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate machining equipment and hand tools
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work around industrial equipment
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading field service activities or serving as a senior technician
- Experience repairing pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, gearboxes, blowers, or similar rotating equipment
- Experience with precision alignment, inspections, balancing, vibration analysis, or equipment testing
- Experience working in power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Technical training, apprenticeship, military mechanical training, or equivalent hands-on experience
- TWIC card or ability to obtain one
- OSHA or industrial safety certifications
