Lead Field Systems Technician

Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and install toll collection systems, intelligent transportation subsystems, and traffic management devices including lane controllers, RFID, and dynamic message signs. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic equipment, wiring, and network components while managing spare parts inventory and documentation. Provide training to junior analysts on system operations and procedures, analyze automated control reports to identify exceptions, and respond to maintenance requests and alarms within established timeframes. Isolate hardware and software faults, complete work order logs, and escalate systemic issues to system maintenance providers. Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to review proposed system changes and verify implementations.
Required Qualifications
- 5 – 8+ years of related experience in field support, information technology, tolling systems and/or intelligent transportation systems
- Fundamental electrical/mechanical knowledge
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, nights and be on-call as needed
- Occasional travel required, may include air travel
- Ability to adjust focus, as necessary to use a computer
- Ability to talk or hear
- Regularly required to stand, walk and sit
- Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially as to Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point and other PC based programs
- Must be able to multitask, problem solve, and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Reporting and documentation skills
- Ability to interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, military training, or electrical engineering preferred
- IMSA-II (Traffic Signal Tech 2) certification preferred, but not required
