Job Summary
Lead Field Service Technician overseeing a hands-on installation and de-installation team for telecommunications infrastructure in central office, data center, and technical environments. Responsible for site surveys, method-of-procedure development, hiring and training technicians, managing installation/de-installation activities, coordinating with customers, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficient project execution. Requires 4-year degree in a technical field (preferred) and 10+ years in telecom operations with experience in equipment such as Nortel, Lucent, Alcatel, and Tellabs; travel up to 80% and ability to work in physically demanding environments. Will lead process improvements, ensure proper labeling and equipment handling, and support cost-effective project outcomes. Based in Rochester, NY with remote options for qualified travelers or in Dallas, TX for on-site opportunities; strong emphasis on Telcordia GR1275 standards and hands-on leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year College Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or other similar technical industry (preferred)
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience managing telecommunications network operations
- Experience in installation and de-installation of traditional central office telecom equipment (Nortel, Tellabs, Lucent, Alcatel, etc.)
- DC power plant installation/de-installation including rectifier bays, battery strings, and inverter bays
- Strong project management, leadership, and field supervision abilities
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%) and work in physically demanding environments
