Job Summary
Lead Field Service Engineer responsible for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation and dynamic positioning systems on ships and in shipyards, with on-site and remote troubleshooting, technical training, documentation, and up to 85% travel; requires degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, offshore/ HUET, security clearances, and strong leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; or associate’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED with 8+ years of industry experience
- Proven experience in marine automation and dynamic positioning systems
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Willing and able to travel extensively, often on short notice (up to 85%)
- Ability to board offshore vessels and complete offshore survival training such as HUET
- U.S. Person status with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances for defense-related projects
- Physically capable of working in offshore and shipyard environments, adhering to safety and environmental regulations
- Prior experience with customer service and technical leadership in marine environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with USACE safety and environmental standards (EM 385-1-1) (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation software (preferred)
- Background in shipyard or construction settings (preferred)
