Job Summary

Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs while administering injections, immunizations, sutures, and wound management. Interpret diagnostic test results including x-rays and laboratory studies, and prepare accurate, complete medical records using the EMR. Act as the clinic leader when the Practice Manager is absent, providing mentorship and preceptorship to new-graduate providers and allied staff. Collaborate proactively with other providers to coordinate patient dispositions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection-control protocols and OSHA standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree and certification by Nurse Practitioner (NP) certifying body
  • Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR)
  • Strong knowledge of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Strong knowledge of: Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
  • Strong knowledge of: Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
  • Strong knowledge of: Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
  • Strong knowledge of: Current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
