Lead Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - Urgent Care

Job Summary
Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs. Administer or order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and perform therapeutic procedures including injections, sutures, and wound management. Prepare accurate medical records in the EMR and maintain a safe environment adhering to infection-control and legal protocols. Collaborate with clinic staff to treat patients and plan coordinated dispositions, while mentoring new-graduate providers and acting as a clinical leader when the Practice Manager is absent. Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- certification by Nurse Practitioner (NP) certifying body
- DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts

Desired Qualifications
- Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred
- Strong leadership skills: Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff

- Strong knowledge of: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Strong knowledge of: Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
- Strong knowledge of: Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
- Strong knowledge of: Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care
- Strong knowledge of: Current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
