Job Summary
Lead Environmental role to support the preparation and implementation of the Environmental Management Program on Bechtel Mining and Metals projects. Field-based role in Weipa, Australia, focusing on governance of the environmental management program, guiding contractors on regulatory and client requirements, conducting risk assessments, audits, and environmental reporting, and developing and maintaining the Construction Environmental Management Plan and sub plans. Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement with Bechtel and client leadership, environmental sampling and monitoring, inspections, and driving continual improvement across ES&H practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the environmental sciences / engineering fields
- 7-10 years of relevant experience
- Ability to utilise Microsoft office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Demonstrated experience with construction projects site establishment, earthworks, civil works and marine works
- Experience in management of environmental management systems including compliance tracking, technical report writing and development of dashboards appropriate to the audiences
- Ability to develop and conduct audits and inspections
- Demonstrated ability in management of complex stakeholder environments
