Job Summary
Lead and develop a squad of mid-level to principal engineers, owning hiring/onboarding and driving personal and professional growth. Shape company-wide managerial and technical practices to foster a culture of ownership where teams build and run their solutions. Define and execute the AI domain technical strategy and roadmap, mentor the Principal Engineer, and coordinate complex programs spanning multiple squads. Ensure delivery of high-quality, robust, and operationally excellent solutions while promoting agile, data-informed improvements. Must have significant people leadership experience, mentorship at scale, program leadership, strategic and technical balance, and credibility with Scala and Kafka. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with a hybrid work model with in-office days.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience managing engineering teams (mid-level to principal)
- Proven ability to hire, onboard and develop engineers
- Experience shaping managerial and technical best practices
- Track record delivering large-scale programs across multiple teams
- Strong strategic and technical balance with hands-on capability
- Technical credibility with systems knowledge (e.g., Scala, Kafka)
- Expert understanding of modern agile practices and metrics-driven improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Hybrid work environment with in-office requirements (2-3 days/week depending on level)
- Leadership in creating and maintaining high-performing teams
