Job Summary
Lead Engineer in Valmet’s Energy & Recovery Engineering team responsible for leading engineering activities focused on HSE and equipment design, coordinating global resources and schedules, developing and reviewing AutoCAD/SolidWorks drawings, driving process improvements, and supporting site service projects and field issue resolution. Requires collaborating with Product, Field Service, Sales, Global Engineering, and Project Management teams, traveling to customer sites (20–30%) for project execution and data collection, and delivering technical presentations related to design, scope, and troubleshooting. Strong background in mechanical engineering design with production-level CAD capabilities, experience in pulp and power industries (recovery boilers, power boilers, evaporator experience a plus), and a proven track record in leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in design, layout, or stress engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for production-level drawings
- Strong experience in the Pulp & Power industry, specifically: Recovery boilers, Power boilers, Evaporator experience is a plus
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage designers globally
- Experience performing field measurements and supporting installation modifications
- Ability to troubleshoot and support customer needs at job sites
