Job Summary
Lead Building Engineer responsible for performing complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment and grounds. Under limited supervision, monitor building system operations and performance and utilize trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing and HVAC. Responsibilities include reviewing daily work orders, assigning tasks, overseeing and inspecting engineering staff, formulating preventive maintenance programs to meet design specifications, inspecting fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing systems, estimating time/materials for repairs, maintaining inventory, coordinating with Chief Engineer/Property Manager and clients to schedule downtime, performing emergency and preventive maintenance, maintaining an energy-management program to minimize operating costs, and ensuring safety for self and others. May perform other duties as assigned; on-site role with on-site presence required; no remote or hybrid options.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years building maintenance experience
- Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician License or City Licenses)
- Experience in operation, maintenance and basic repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems
- Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques and operations
- Thorough knowledge in all building systems operations, maintenance and repair
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to understand and give general instructions in standard situations
- May require shift work and/or on call duties
- Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Climb ladders and stairs
