Job Summary
Lead and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters on complex high-voltage and extra high-voltage transmission projects. Set clear expectations, goals, and project vision while overseeing execution, quality deliverables, and timely completion. Delegate tasks effectively and mentor team members to enhance skills and productivity. Review and approve engineering design submittals, manage constructability evaluations, and coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and construction teams. Participate in project estimation, proposal development, and permitting. Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Minimum of 10 years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility sector
- Extensive experience with PLS-CADD for transmission line design
- Strong knowledge of design codes and standards including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI
- Proven experience coordinating with substation, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders
- Deep understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction practices in the industry
- Strong project management skills, with a history of delivering high-quality work on time
- Commitment to safety and compliance with all safety regulations
- Self-motivated and adaptable, thriving in unstructured and deadline-driven environments
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience coaching and guiding teams
- Excellent collaboration, business, and technical communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record per company policy
