Job Summary
Lead Engineer – Supplier Quality Assurance / Supplier Technical Assistance role focusing on evaluating, developing, auditing, monitoring and improving supplier capabilities for mechanical components. Hands-on leadership with ferrous castings, forgings, sheet metal, fabrication and precision machined components; requires deep understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and ISO/IATF standards; involves collaboration with engineering, quality and sourcing teams across Marmon Group companies to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance / Supplier Quality or Supplier Technical Assistance for mechanical components
- Strong understanding of IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Proficiency in Ferrous Castings, Forgings, Sheet Metal, Fabrication and Precision Machined Component manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, problem-solving methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Automobile or production engineering (preferred specialization)
- Strong understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Knowledge of measurement techniques and proficiency in using height gauges, micrometers, verniers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and problem-solving tools (Fishbone Diagram, 8D, SCAR)
- Strong attention to details and commitment to continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
