Job Summary
Lead simulator connectivity, hardware/software integration, and network troubleshooting for full-scope nuclear plant simulation environments. Configure OPC servers, manage virtual machine deployments, and resolve discrepancies between plant process models and control system representations. Provide onsite technical leadership for simulator cabinets, instructor stations, HMI systems, and communication interfaces, verifying performance against design requirements and supporting factory acceptance testing. Maintain alignment with ANSI/ANS-3.5-2009 standards and REG GUIDE 1.149 for operator training facilities. Requires onsite presence in Wilmington, NC, with access to U.S. export-controlled information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Systems, Software, Computer Science or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or equivalent 4-year technical degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting nuclear simulation, plant process modeling, I&C systems, control systems, simulator hardware/software integration, or related plant engineering systems
- Relocation to Wilmington, NC
- Eligibility to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with full-scope nuclear plant simulators, real-time simulation platforms, instructor stations, HMI systems, and control room simulation environments
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to isolate issues across model logic, control logic, network communication, hardware configuration, and software interfaces
- Ability to translate plant system behavior into simulator requirements, test cases, and acceptance criteria
- Ability to work onsite with simulator hardware, engineering workstations, test equipment, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Master of Science in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Systems, Software, Computer Science or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
- Knowledge of: ANSI/ANS-3.5-2009 Nuclear Power Plant simulators for use in operator training and examination
- Knowledge of: REG GUIDE 1.149 Nuclear Power Plant Simulation Facilities for use in operator training, License examination and applicant experience requirements
