Job Summary
Lead Project Engineer responsible for designing, building, testing and delivering a complete system-level machine for customer acceptance. Drives cross-functional collaboration with project management, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, service, and safety to track and control technical issues. Develops technical solutions, detailed proposals, and cost calculations for customized UT/NDT testing systems based on customer requirements to support sales. Performs design reviews across system, component, and sub-system levels, supports on-site installation, assembly, commissioning, and training to achieve final customer acceptance. Coordinates with design, mechanical, and electrical engineers on new product development (including robotics integration) and communicates with global teams to enhance technical ability and international collaboration. Must have a Bachelor or above in Engineering and 10+ years of hands-on experience in automated machinery/equipment, with preference for direct NDT industry experience and ability to travel; proficient in Chinese and English.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering domains such as NDT, Mechanical, Automation, Materials or related fields
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in design and building automatic machinery/equipment (mechanical, automation, system engineering)
- Experience in NDT industry for big/customized UT systems is an advantage
- Knowledge of NDT domain in theory and application
- Ability to communicate effectively in Chinese and English
- Willingness to travel and take on responsibilities
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (project management, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, service, safety) and leading a multi-domain engineering team
- Experience participating in new product development including robotics integration
- Ability to perform design reviews at system/component/sub-system levels
- Experience supporting on-site installation, assembly, commissioning, and training to achieve customer acceptance
- Strong system-level thinking and problem-solving skills
