Job Summary
Lead Engineer at Kyndryl responsible for designing, developing, and implementing backend services using Java and Spring Boot, building and maintaining a microservices architecture, and crafting RESTful APIs. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and architects to deliver scalable, high-availability software. Emphasizes clean, maintainable code, unit/integration testing, code reviews, and productive debugging of production issues. Participate in Agile ceremonies, optimize performance, support deployment and release activities, document components, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. Opportunity to architect solutions and guide features/technologies, with growth toward senior leadership roles within a cloud-based managed services environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4 to 6 years of overall experience as a Lead Engineer / Senior Software Engineer
- Strong proficiency in Java (8 or above)
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA
- Front-end exposure with React
- Microservices architecture and REST API development
- Relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Docker, Kubernetes (basic to intermediate)
- Experience with API design, versioning, and documentation
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews
- Ability to work in Agile environments (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
- Willingness to participate in deployment, CI/CD, and cloud-based workflows
