Job Summary
Lead Engineer within Deutsche Bank's Service Platforms and AI area in Berlin. You take a leading role in a cross-discipline agile team to create future-oriented backend solutions, own end-to-end technical delivery from concept to deployment, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with QA/DevOps to ensure reliability, security, and regulatory compliance. You will work with JVM languages (Java/Kotlin) and/or Python, leverage modern SDLC practices, and apply cloud (GCP) technologies; strong architecture and distributed-systems experience is required. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and MLOps/LLM-powered services is a plus. English communication is essential; German is an asset. The role supports flexible/hybrid working arrangements in Berlin.
Required Qualifications
- Strong software engineering skills with JVM languages (Java/Kotlin) and/or Python
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud (GCP preferred)
- Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems
- Experience with AI/ML, MLOps or LLM-powered services is a plus
- Experience in financial institutions or other highly regulated environments is a plus
- Excellent English communication; German is an asset
