Job Summary
Lead Engineer – Hardware BMS leads hardware and battery management systems development for Battery Management Systems (BMS) in a Hybrid role based in Towson, MD. Responsible for R&D of electronic hardware designs for BMS, directing new product/platform design, improving production techniques, developing test procedures, and coordinating with Global Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing teams. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and 10+ years of experience in BMS electronics design; proficiency in embedded systems, PCB design, EMC design, Altium or similar tools, and hands-on board bring-up and testing. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in Battery Management Systems Electronics design
- Experience in embedded systems and Lithium-ion battery management
- Strong knowledge of PCB design best practices and design for EMC
- Proficient in schematic capture, PCB and simulation using Altium designer or similar software package
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing and design for high volume production and fault tolerant design practices
- Board-level bring-up and troubleshooting hands-on experience (oscilloscope, probes, DMM, thermal camera)
- Ability to travel globally as needed
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
