Job Summary

Lead incoming inspection at engine induction, review disassembly and define part status for clean/inspect, ship to repair, or scrap. Create engine-specific work copies, shop routers, and Visual Inspection Reports to discuss status with customers and agree on final work scope. Support Gate 3 team on technical issues during re-assembly, troubleshoot testing and field issues, and create Final Reports documenting all activities. Write procedures and assembly forms as part of the Continuous Improvement Journey. Act as a focal point between DT and Operations to develop new ways of work and tools, while managing special tools design and industrialization for LM Aero-derivative gas turbines including LM2500, LM6000, and LM9000.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
  • Technical High School Diploma with 5 years of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with air-breathing engines, either in the field or in new engine assembly
  • Basic knowledge of Turbomachinery Mechanics
  • Previous knowledge/experience of Aero-derivative gas turbine products, especially on LM2500
  • Previous knowledge/experience of Aero-engines, especially on CF6 or GE90
  • Previous experience dealing with Customers
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization: from shop operators to Executives
  • Strong attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information
  • Be a Solution-oriented problem solver
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen
  • U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government
