Job Summary
Own the technical design and implementation of complex FinTech and payment systems, making architectural decisions and establishing engineering standards. Build and maintain APIs, integrations, services, and data systems while working hands-on in the codebase to design, code, review, and ship. Solve challenging problems involving payments, financial data, transactions, and third-party integrations, partnering with Product and Engineering leadership to translate business requirements into strong technical solutions. Identify technical risks and proactively improve system reliability, scalability, and security, mentoring other engineers through code reviews and technical guidance. Deliver tested, maintainable, and documented software using modern AI-powered techniques in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience building and scaling production payments software
- Deep understanding of backend architecture, APIs, databases, and distributed systems
- Experience working in FinTech, payments, banking, financial services, or other transaction-heavy systems
- Strong understanding of payment flows, transaction processing, webhooks, reconciliation, or financial integrations
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services such as payment processors, banks, or financial platforms
- Strong experience with TypeScript/Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud infrastructure
- Comfortable working across the stack when needed, including React/React Native
- Strong architectural instincts and ability to make pragmatic technical tradeoffs
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
- Candidates must be based in the United States
- Candidates must be available during standard business hours for both internal and external meetings
