Lead Engineer – eAxle Thermal System

Job Summary

Lead Engineer for eAxle Thermal System at Bosch. Act as the thermal expert for next-generation electric axle systems, ensuring thermal performance, efficiency and cost competitiveness across platforms and customer projects. Drive development of thermal management solutions for eMobility applications; perform system-level thermal simulations to predict behavior; plan, define, and execute thermal measurements and validate results; develop and continuously improve thermal simulation models and ensure correlation with measurement data. Serve as main interface for thermal topics between electric machine, gearbox and power electronics domains, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Support project teams with thermal system deliverables, including requirement analysis, technical presentations and customer communication; provide technical guidance on thermal management and support system-level decision-making; contribute to software-related topics at system level, including thermal management functions, control strategies and calibration concepts; contribute to development of methodologies, tools and processes in thermal engineering.Qualifications include degree in related field, strong thermodynamics expertise, experience with electrified powertrains, system simulation tools (AMESIM, Simscape, Simulink), MATLAB and engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, MS Office), 3D FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, Fluent), automotive embedded software understanding, software requirements formulation, and excellent communication in an international environment. The position requires ability to work in cross-functional and global teams and is described as a professional, mid-senior level role with English proficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Thermodynamics or a related field
  • Strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer and thermal system behavior at both component and system level
  • Solid understanding of electric powertrain systems and the interaction of key eMobility components
  • Experience with thermal management and cooling concepts in electrified powertrain applications
  • Experience with system simulation tools such as AMESIM, Simscape, Simulink or similar platforms
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and common engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, MS Office)
  • Understanding of 3D FEA and CFD simulation methods and related tools (e.g. ANSYS, Fluent)
  • Good understanding of automotive embedded software architecture and system interactions
  • Ability to formulate software-related requirements and understand software implementation from a system perspective
  • Understanding of software-controlled thermal management strategies is an advantage
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes as well as cost-efficient product design principles
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams
  • Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
