Job Summary
Lead Control Systems Application Engineer responsible for defining control system requirements and mentoring team members. role involves converting MATLAB/Simulink algorithms to PSCAD models, developing plant models, verification in MATLAB, creating test harnesses, writing model guides, and evaluating models in PSCAD across the full delivery life cycle. Responsibilities include supporting tendering and client communications, addressing technical queries, and ensuring grid stability through control and protection strategies for HVDC schemes; requires expertise in PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK, familiarity with DPS studies, and ability to travel to project sites.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects
- Experience in PSCAD
- Experience with MATLAB-SIMULINK
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand customer requirements and develop client relationships
- Ability to travel
- Capability to work under deadlines while maintaining safety and engineering integrity
- Technical leadership experience in control applications or HVDC projects
