Job Summary
Manage municipal engineering projects from planning through design and construction by leading teams of engineers, technicians, and support staff. Provide professional services including studies, planning, design, specifications, and construction administration while mentoring project members and collaborating on multi-discipline plans. Lead proposal preparation and participate in interviews to secure firm work, increasing business development responsibilities with experience. Communicate consistently with clients and supervisors on project progress and attend necessary meetings. Work independently with rational judgment, adhering to safety policies and ethical standards. Travel and out-of-town stays may be required, with potential overtime during construction season.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineers License or ability to be licensed within 6-12 months
- 7 or more years of experience working as a Civil Engineer in the municipal engineering field
- Experience in preparing civil design drawings, specifications and opinions of cost related to water/sewer utilities, roadways, drainage, etc.
- Experience working with local, county or state agencies
- Strong project management skills and experience
- Construction management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs

- Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions
- Required to work in an outdoors environment during construction season
- May require prolonged periods of standing and walking to perform some of the typical tasks and duties associated with construction observation or surveying
- Required to lift objects or containers weighing 50-lbs
- Must work scheduled and required hours
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree

- Experience working with local, county or state agencies
- Working knowledge in AutoCAD/Civil-3D, Microstation/GeoPak, Google-SketchUP Pro or ARCMap GIS
