Job Summary
Lead Engineer - Aerodynamics role focusing on developing prediction methods and technologies to improve aerodynamic, aero-acoustic, aero-mechanical, and thermal performance for GE Aerospace development programs. Lead and participate in high-fidelity CFD analyses (Pointwise, iCFD++, Tecplot) to guide design improvements in aerodynamics, aero-mechanics, and aero-acoustics; relate analytical results to experimental data; prepare presentations to communicate results to multidisciplinary teams; collaborate with engineers to analyze compressible flows in supersonic/hypersonic conditions; support validation through testing; participate in integrated product teams and coordinate with industry partners and subcontractors. Requires Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 3-5 years of aerodynamics experience, ability to obtain DoD clearance, and willingness to work from Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL; U.S. citizenship/residency status per contract; relocation assistance provided.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with a strong background in aerodynamics and both reacting and non-reacting compressible flow
- 3-5 years of aerodynamics analysis experience of supersonic flows
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and applying them to technical tasks
- Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- CFD proficiency with Pointwise, iCFD++ and Tecplot
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Willing to work out of an office in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL
