Job Summary
Conduct advanced troubleshooting, repair, and modification of oilfield electronic components, data acquisition instrumentation, and hydraulic fracturing machinery. Manipulate Data Van control software for installation, configuration, and log analysis while maintaining computer systems and performing preventative maintenance inspections. Manage inventory of repair parts and coordinate with field disciplines to complete work requests and upgrade equipment. Supervise nine employees in the Fracturing department, including interviewing, hiring, training, and directing daily work assignments. Maintain daily work logs, write equipment trouble reports, and provide mentoring to subordinate technicians. Requires ability to work a flexible schedule including long hours, travel to remote locations, and 24-hour on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of three years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Professional, clear verbal and written communication
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long and/or irregular hours
- Ability to travel to jobs in remote locations
- Ability to read equipment prints and schematics to perform competent troubleshooting
- Two to five years of experience in maintenance and repair of instrumentation, such as: flow meters, transducers, densitometers and controllers
- Must be accessible by telephone and able to be on 24-hour call
- Knowledge of electronic test equipment and various tools
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
