Job Summary
Design high-voltage substations and HVDC systems by integrating components, performing layout designs, and executing design calculations in compliance with global and local standards. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to implement efficient layouts, manage engineering subcontractors, and support procurement activities. Develop comprehensive design specifications, streamline documentation, and collaborate with construction teams to incorporate design insights for enhanced project outcomes. Manage project strategies, risks, and customer relationships to ensure successful delivery. Support site teams during erection and capitalize on lessons learned. This role contributes to GE Vernova's mission of electrifying the world while decarbonizing it through innovative energy solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Experience in the design of HV substations, HVDC Substation, including layout design and component selection
- In-depth knowledge of HV substation design principles, industry standards, and regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CAD software Autodesk CAD tools, Revit, BIM360, ACC and substation design tools
- Familiarity with protection and control systems
- Proficiency in using design and simulation, calculation software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Professional engineering certification or licensure
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
