Lead Electromechanical Design Coordinator

Job Summary
Design and integrate control, protection, and electrical distribution systems for high-voltage substations through single-line and schematic diagrams. Initiate and support equipment procurement while coordinating with engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration into the overall substation design. Oversee commissioning and testing of low-voltage systems and provide technical support to customers and project teams. Manage team workload by deciding between in-house design or subcontracting, including subcontractor selection and evaluation. Ensure compliance with state-of-the-art standards and regulations while acting as the technical referent for multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Several years of experience in the design of substations control, cabinet in a EPC project environment
- In-depth knowledge of substation control system design, or electrical distribution, ancillary services, industry standards, and regulations
- Proficiency in using design and simulation, calculation software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure designs meet safety, performance, sustainability, and compliance requirements
- Basic project management skills, including the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CAD software and substation design tools is a plus
- Familiarity with Substation Layout is advantageous
- Professional engineering certification or licensure is preferred
