Lead Electrician/Panel Builder

Job Summary
Lead electrical panel fabrication, wiring, and assembly activities in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Serve as technical lead for electrical work within the shop, interpreting schematics and bills of materials while ensuring compliance with NEC, OSHA, and safety requirements. Perform quality inspections, functional testing, and troubleshooting of wiring and system issues. Coordinate work sequencing to meet production schedules, maintain tools and equipment, and provide hands-on guidance and training to shop personnel. Document build completion and testing results, supporting continuous improvement efforts. Requires high school diploma, five years of industrial electrical experience, and ability to work in a fabrication environment with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical work or panel building
- Demonstrated experience leading electrical fabrication or installation activities
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong knowledge of NEC and industrial electrical standards
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Routine exposure to electrical equipment, tools, noise, and shop hazards
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Excellent internal and external customer service and communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to deal with conflicts and stressful situations
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and projects
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint
Desired Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience
- Experience building UL‑listed control panels
- Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Exposure to government, DOE, or regulated project environments
- PLC wiring or industrial controls experience
