Job Summary
Lead Electrician will coordinate projects within the Building Maintenance Department, perform preventative and predictive maintenance of electrical systems, install and repair electrical systems and wiring, read diagrams and blueprints, ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations, and lead technicians toward production goals. The role requires a Journeyman-level electrical background, strong troubleshooting skills, ability to read electrical schematics, and the capacity to manage work orders, training, and team motivation in a year-round mountain resort setting.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years electrical trade school
- Journeyman with 2 years minimum hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Ability to read electrical schematics, electrical prints, wiring diagrams and nameplates
- Ability to troubleshoot variable frequency drive (VFD) devices and controls
- Understanding of electrical, NEC or NFPA 70 codes
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Proficient computer skills for duties
- Intermediate skiing and/or snowboarding ability
- Ability to travel on snow while carrying tools and equipment
- Must be able to perform heavy work as defined (up to 100 pounds occasionally)
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, bending, standing, lifting
- Read, interpret and write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions
- Ability to participate in safety procedures
- Team-oriented and able to work with department
