Job Summary
The Lead Electrical Test Technician is responsible for leading a team in electrical testing of manufactured projects and implementing testing procedures for products. The role includes overseeing team work, addressing discipline issues, assisting in training new members, monitoring testing statuses, and troubleshooting assembly and wiring problems. Key responsibilities encompass performing functional testing on various systems, collaborating closely with engineering and production teams, and drafting detailed technical reports on findings and recommendations. Candidates should have a strong educational background in electrical engineering, relevant experience in electrical testing, and leadership capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and single line diagrams
- Knowledge in testing of three phase AC and DC control circuits
- Knowledge in testing protection relays and switchgear
- Knowledge of power distribution, breakers, current and potential transformers, protection relays, and switchgear
- Good working knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Procedures and NEC Codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in power distribution electrical testing or related field
- Experience leading a team
- Familiarity with protection relay software such as Schweitzer, AcSELerator and GE Enervista UR
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
