Job Summary
Lead, Electrical Engineer at L3Harris in Greenville, TX, serving as an FAA ODA Unit Member in the Airworthiness Engineering Group. The role provides as a technical authority for aircraft electrical systems certification, managing complex certification initiatives, guiding others through certification tasks, and contributing to process and standard improvements to meet airworthiness requirements. Key duties include reviewing aircraft modifications and repairs for FAA compliance, issuing approval recommendations, acting as ODA Task Leader for projects, mentoring team members, and supporting certification activities across programs. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with significant experience (or a higher degree with commensurate experience), MIL-HDBK-516 knowledge, U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance, and travel up to 10%. The position requires on-site work in Greenville, TX, and may involve overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with nine (9) years of experience with Aircraft electrical systems and 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements
- Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of experience with Aircraft electrical systems and 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of experience with Aircraft electrical systems and 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements
- MIL-HDBK-516 military airworthiness certification
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Willing and able to travel up to 10%
- Experience with safety analysis, lightning, or EWIS approvals
- Familiarity with FAA ODA processes
- Experience with aircraft electrical systems certification
- Mentor/leadership experience
- FAA certifications/process knowledge
- DoD/US government work experience
- Security clearance preferred or required
