Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the overall electrical commissioning for data center projects, act as a Commissioning Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure commissioning standards are followed, and oversee QC/documentation. Manage technical aspects of multiple commissioning projects, interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and owners agents, develop SOPs and MOPs, prepare comprehensive reports and checklists, perform integrated system testing (including Load Bank Testing, fire alarm/control systems, HVAC, Chillers, CRAC units, electrical distribution, UPS, standby generators, and emergency lighting), and guide a team with growth into a technical management role within 6-18 months. The role includes field troubleshooting, travel up to 50%, and ensuring adherence to IEEE/ASHRAE procedures and company QC processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10+ years experience in the Electrical / Mechanical Commissioning Field
- Bachelor's / Associates Degree as an Electrical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer a plus
- A/E experience working in complex facilities or mission critical projects
- Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience a must
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning
- Experience managing commissioning teams and developing plans for large scale commissioning projects
- Experience with IEEE / ASHRAE procedures and protocols a plus
- Possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project
- Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus
- Open to 50% Travel (not long periods of travel / just many smaller ones to check on multiple projects)
- Must live 60-90 minutes from a major airport
