Job Summary
Assist teachers with activities including Career Exploration endeavors, homework completion, and small group sessions tailored to individual student needs. Monitor students during snack time and program hours to ensure safety, while implementing positive behavioral interventions as required. Collaborate with the principal, teachers, and staff to create structured daily schedules and provide ideas that promote student engagement. Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and concerns, and document efforts in the ETO data system. Foster a supportive learning environment and attend scheduled meetings prior to student arrival.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to create and implement engaging educational activities that align with program goals and objectives
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- some college coursework in education or related field
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of various subjects and ability to provide academic support in math, science, English, and other core subjects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to students, parents, and staff members
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students
