Job Summary
Greet and assist donors by unloading donations, determining acceptability, and providing tax information while maintaining excellent public relations. Sort goods into proper containers, remove trash, and apply labels to ensure accurate distribution. Complete daily donor logs, receipts, and paperwork, keeping donation sites clear and clean. Supervise site flow, coach team members on training and development, and report problems to the Production Manager. Open and close facilities, ensuring security and adherence to workplace safety requirements. Possess a forklift license or ability to become certified. Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old
- Ability to read, write and do simple math
- Possession of a forklift license or the ability to become certified as a forklift operator
- Visual and hearing acuity (with correction) that meets standard vision and hearing test criteria
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
- A neat appearance and good manners are essential
- Ability to push and pull various carts requiring a force of 50 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift
- Ability to push and pull manual pallet jacks with gaylords or other material requiring a force of 60 pounds a distance of 100 feet for 25% of the shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds from ground level to waist level at least 80 times during the course of an entire shift
- Ability to repeatedly bend forward or to the side 60 degrees to remove or place items into various carts and gaylords for 50% of the shift
- Ability to step up 24 inches onto forklifts and/or onto the lift forks slots of trash dumpsters up to 25% of shift
- Ability to raise hands above the head to open trash dumpsters for 10% of the shift
- Ability to stand continuously for more than 75% of the shift
