Job Summary
Lead Dispatcher (Route Delivery) oversees daily dispatch operations in a fast-paced automotive aftermarket distribution environment, coordinating delivery routes, mentoring dispatchers and drivers, ensuring DOT-compliant operations, building customer relationships through regular visits, and acting as a relief driver when needed. Responsibilities include route planning, real-time issue resolution, KPI tracking (delivery timeliness, route completion, customer satisfaction), cross-dock coordination, safety coaching, fleet readiness, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of delivery areas and inventory systems. The role requires DOT medical card, leadership and communication skills, proficiency with routing/fleet management software, and the ability to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays. Emphasis on customer service, operational problem-solving, and adherence to DOT regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of dispatch or logistics experience, ideally in the automotive aftermarket or parts distribution
- Proficiency in routing or fleet management software
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Flexible to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and active DOT medical card (required to perform relief driver responsibilities)
