Job Summary
Assign drivers to daily routes based on the employee work schedule and operational needs while booking out all scheduled loads to ensure complete route coverage. Review driver schedules, time-off requests, and hours of service, then make adjustments to assignments throughout the day due to call-offs, delays, equipment issues, or operational changes. Communicate route assignments, schedule changes, and operational updates to drivers and the Transportation Supervisor, and verify backhaul pickups are timely. Maintain accurate book out screens and work closely with transportation leadership to ensure efficient daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of transportation/dispatch experience
- Prior experience training or leading a team
- DOT knowledge of rules and regulations
- Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems such as but not limited to Roadnet, Global, YMS, E-mail, Voice mail etc
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership
- Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day
- Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc
- Communication of expectations and directions in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Reporting data and information accurately to leaders and team members
- Ability to multi-task during shift
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on impact
- Maintain integrity and high standards of product and data from all perspectives
- Maintain and drive safety policies and demonstrate safe practices throughout shift
