Job Summary
Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene. Monitor health and medical needs, reporting concerns immediately, while driving individuals to medical appointments and community activities. Assist with learning independent skills and participate in social and recreational programs. Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely. Build a support network by developing relationships with community members, businesses, and families. Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or investigations. Valid driver's license required; successful completion of background checks and drug testing is contingent upon employment. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
