Job Summary
Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene. Monitor health needs and report concerns immediately, while driving individuals to medical appointments and community activities. Facilitate learning of independent skills and participate in social and recreational programs. Ensure accurate program documentation and billable records are completed. Build a support network by developing relationships with community members, businesses, and families. Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations. This role requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to exercise good judgment in crisis situations. Employment is contingent upon passing criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
